ZACK MERRICK - ALL TIME LOW

David Avenius: All Time Low was signed while still in high school and jumped on the Warped Tour right after graduation - any advice for young musicians transitioning from school life to life on the road?

Zack Merrick: Well as I've learned - pack light and stay optomistic or the stress will get to you!

David: Who are your influences as a band and as a bass player?

Zack: As a band our influences stay more with our genre of music such as Acceptance, Taking Back Sunday, Blink 182 Yellowcard... However for me personally I look up to The Beatles, Flea, Marcus Miller, Jeff Berlin and John Mayer.

David: How did your Aguilar rig hold up for you on the Warped Tour this year?

Zack: My Aguilar equipment out did any gear I have ever used.  Especially since it is always 100+ degrees and very dirty. I wouldn't recommend any other brand.

David: Did you get many compliments from the other bands?

Zack: Every time I have taken my gear on stage I get lots of compliments about how incredible it sounds after I play.

David: What made you want to use Aguilar?

Zack: Well I wasn't very impressed with my old gear after it crapped out on me. Plus Aguilar was reccomended to me by Greg Strong of Amber Pacific and it was the best decision on my part.

David: What is on the horizon for ATL?  Any big shows or tours lined up?

Zack: Currently we are on tour with our good friends Amber Pacific and the tour lasts until October 5th. Right after we are main support with hit the lights and directly after that we hit the road with Sugercult, The Pink Spiders and Meg and Dia.
