Aguilar’s March 2009 Newsletter

March has been a busy month so far and we have some cool new things to tell you about! Our website has been updated with more sound clips from various Aguilar artists, we’ve added a new blog by Dave Boonshoft, President of Aguilar, and we’re getting ready to go to the Musikmesse in Germany.

We mentioned in our last newsletter that Adam Nitti has joined the Aguilar family and now he has sent us seven sound clips showcasing his new gear. Want to get a taste of the distorted tone of the AG 500? How about it’s slap tone? Adam also plays a groove with the Tone Hammer on and then bypassed so you can hear all the warmth that the unit can add to your signal.

Dave Boonshoft has a new blog on our site called “Behind The Bass Player”. In his first post, Dave discusses working with Jack Casady on the DB 285 JC, a cabinet they designed to capture the magic of hollow body and upright basses. John Patitucci has been using the DB 285JC live and recently recorded some parts for his upcoming album, “Remembrance”, with it.
John was kind enough to come down and spend some time at Naked Music (Dave Boonshoft’s studio and record label) recording a few sound clips to showcase the DB 285 JC cabinet with both his upright and electric basses. These clips will give you a real ‘aural representation” of this great new cabinet.

Aguilar Amplification will be at the Musikmesse show in Frankfurt, Germany from April 1st - 4th. We will be exhibiting in Hall 4.2, stand B22. Come by and check out the unveiling of some top-secret new products and see the new White Hot cabinets in person! Endorsing artist Fred Schneider (the subject of an upcoming Artist Interview) and others will be at the booth providing gear demonstrations.

We would like to give a big welcome to the following artists who joined the Aguilar family since our last newsletter: Bret Cohune (Thriving Ivory) and Walton B. Smith (Jeremy Camp).
