Aguilar’s July 2009 Newsletter!

Greetings from New York City! We are happy to emerge from four weeks of rain to bring you the latest from Aguilar HQ. In this issue we want to remind about next week’s not-to-be missed clinic, and some new content on our web site, including a new artist interview and more!

Next week, Tuesday, July 14, 2009, we will be hosting a special installment of the Aguilar Artist Series Master Classes with endorsing artists, Steve Jenkins and Matt Rubano!

Steve Jenkins is a popular figure in the modern Jazz and jam/funk scenes. He has toured extensively with guitar heroes Vernon Reid and David Fiuczynski and still maintains a rigorous teaching schedule. Matt Rubano manages to juggle a multitude of NY sessions, VJ-ing on the Fuse Network, and being a member of Taking Back Sunday, who have recently released New Again on Warner Bros. Records.

Close friends and fellow Berklee College of Music grads, Matt and Steve will be discussing different aspects of making a living as a New York session musician as well as demonstrating some of the great bass lines they have written for artists such as Taking Back Sunday, Lauryn Hill, Vernon Reid, The Screaming Headless Torsos, and Steve’s own great solo album, Mad Science. To make things even more exciting, drummer Tobias Ralph will join Matt and Steve for this clinic.

RSVP to info@aguilaramp.com by July 13th, 2009.

For our June artist interview, we would like to introduce you to our friend, Saturnino. In his native Italy, Saturnino is an extremely well known session bassist and solo artist. So well known in fact, that he only needs to go by his first name! We hope this interview will inspire you to check out this fantastic bassist/composer. Click here to learn more about Saturnino.
